This book is for everyone seeking help for addiction and anyone wanting to safely and effectively support someone who is addressing counterproductive behaviors.  Specifically, what makes this self-help book unique is that the 30-day rehabilitation process is designed for two people to work through together. The language in the book is written for a parent-child or ally-partner relationship, but the parent/ally could just as easily be a spouse, friend, sponsor, mentor, cleric, grandparent, coach, trainer, or advocate and a child/partner a friend, student, trainee, or colleague. Any supportive, non-judgmental pair works. The reading is easy and each day there is a journal exercise.

Rick Bolin developed this 30-day early recovery approach after running an integrated holistic 30-day residential recovery facility for three years. During that time he was an interventionist. Between interventions and the day-to-day business of the clinic he met hundreds of families trying to support a loved one through substance use disorders like heroin, meth, pills, pot, and alcohol as well as process addictions like social media, gambling, and shopping. The pain and fear every single one of those people felt motivated this book.  This book is  exactly the book you wish you had because it’s exactly what he wished he had when he faced a crisis at home.
